Something that didn't come up in my Intellectual Property and Law class in college;)
I just made a promotional image for my plugin and it includes a representation of the c4d logo... is that ok? I'm hoping this situation would be like using the windows or mac logo on your product page to signify that it's designed to work on those operating systems.
I have to say, in this particular image it is quite fitting to use the c4d logo (beyond the "it's made to work solely inside c4d" argument), but I do have a "plan b" just in case it isn't ok;)
I wish I could show the image... but I haven't yet released the plugin. I will share it with Maxon if needed (if it's a case of "we need to approve it first but otherwise yeah it's fine"), but I'd rather not share it publicly just yet;)
I have read the copyright info on the Maxon site, though it still seems like this might be kind of a gray area. It also says that Maxon US can be contacted regarding this, which I'm going to do, but I'm kind of anticipating I'll get the "You'll have to talk to the Headquarters in Germany for that" answer.
Matthias: maybe there's someone at the Germany office who can be made aware of this thread? If so my contact is me_at_kvbarnum.com (replace the "_at_" with @).
thanks!
