I was wondering the same thing recently, as it looks like I need to create some dialogs for Cinema4D R12 too.
I have never used ResEdit before, so I don't have much choice right now.
It would be nice if it was distributed as a stand-alone program instead of a plugin.
Or at least provide source code for it so people can re-compile it themselves. Or maybe provide a
Resource Converter, so one could create a resource in MS Visual Studio, and convert it to Cinema4D.
I extracted ResEdit_3.11.zip in my R12 plugins directory, but I guess it doesn't work for R12. -

If you have an earlier version of C4D installed, just use ResEdit in that. The files are upward-compatible (I say that because it's my impression that resource files built with the latest version of ResEdit won't always work in earlier C4D releases).
AIUI, having an earlier release of C4D installed alongside R12 is allowed under the R12 license.
This has been suggested before, but would anyone be interested in a kind of group project to develop a better resource editor? Maybe one which allows you to produce descriptions as well as dialogs and also allow testing of resources within the editor, rather than having to load them into another plugin to test them?

I do have Resedit running fine in 11.5 but I would like to be able to use it in r12 because that is the one that I'm using for production now.
As for the "better resource editor" project, that would be great. If only I had more time, I would jump ship on that.Rui Batista
