Hi... I'm wimping out here, but under a bit of time pressure, so hoping a simple answer from someone who knows may be forthcoming. I need to use the knife tool in COFFEE (with the SendModelingCommand function). The parameters aren't making much sense to me. There are 2 points and 2 vectors. The way that these combine to provide a cut eludes me. I've done plenty of tests, cutting a sphere and varying the parameters to see how they interact, but I'm just not quite getting it. I can see that the vectors each contribute a component (kinda like dip and strike) to the cutting plane, but the role of the points is not clear to me. Many of the resulting cuts cannot possibly include both points in their plane, and often moving one or other point makes no difference to the cut. Could someone who has used the knife in COFFEE give me the 3 lines of explanation that I need? I can't help but assume (the mother of all f**k-ups, I know) that P1 and V1 should function as a pair, and so too P2 and V2 - anyhow maybe I just need more sleep...
