Cineware project does not compile
-
Hi, I'm currently trying to get the base for a Cineware plugin set up, but it won"t compile. I"m on Windows 10 and am using Visual Studio 2022 with the C++14 language standard. I added the Cineware library as a dependency and am using the correct include paths.
The code:
#include <default_alien_overloads.h> void GetWriterInfo(Int32& id, String& appname) { id = 1234567; // this is replaced with my plugin ID appname = "appname"; // this is replaced with my app name }
The errors:
1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(633,4): error C2065: 'objectToDelete': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(687,2): message : see reference to class template instantiation 'cineware::GeTempDynArray<TYPE>' being compiled 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(633,4): error C3861: 'objectToDelete': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(674,4): error C2065: 'objectToDelete': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(674,4): error C3861: 'objectToDelete': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(750,4): error C2065: 'objectToDelete': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(754,2): message : see reference to class template instantiation 'cineware::GeTempDynStack<TYPE>' being compiled 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(750,4): error C3861: 'objectToDelete': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(936,4): error C2065: 'objectToDelete': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(990,2): message : see reference to class template instantiation 'cineware::GeTempDynSortSearchArray<TYPE,SEARCH,FLUSH>' being compiled 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(936,4): error C3861: 'objectToDelete': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3122,14): error C2065: 'm_Allocated': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3337,2): message : see reference to class template instantiation 'cineware::SortedArray<TYPE,BLOCK>' being compiled 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3122,14): error C3861: 'm_Allocated': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3122,46): error C3861: 'm_pData': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3124,19): error C3861: 'm_pData': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3124,34): error C2065: 'm_Allocated': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3124,34): error C3861: 'm_Allocated': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3125,18): error C3861: 'm_Allocated': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3130,14): error C2065: 'm_Allocated': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3130,14): error C3861: 'm_Allocated': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3135,20): error C3861: 'm_pData': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3141,28): error C3861: 'm_pData': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3143,23): error C3861: 'm_pData': identifier not found 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3122,46): error C2065: 'm_pData': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3124,19): error C2065: 'm_pData': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3125,18): error C2065: 'm_Allocated': undeclared identifier 1>C:\Cineware\includes\private_ge_mtools.h(3337,1): fatal error C1003: error count exceeds 100; stopping compilation

Hello @zun1,
Welcome to the Plugin Café forum and the Cinema 4D development community, it is great to have you with us!
Getting Started
Before creating your next postings, we would recommend making yourself accustomed with our Forum and Support Guidelines, as they line out details about the Maxon SDK Group support procedures. Of special importance are:
- Support Procedures: Scope of Support: Lines out the things we will do and what we will not do.
- Support Procedures: Confidential Data: Most questions should be accompanied by code but code cannot always be shared publicly. This section explains how to share code confidentially with Maxon.
- Forum Structure and Features: Lines out how the forum works.
- Structure of a Question: Lines out how to ask a good technical question. It is not mandatory to follow this exactly, but you should follow the idea of keeping things short and mentioning your primary question in a clear manner.
About your First Question
As you can see here, Visual Studio 2022 is not supported by the Cineware SDK. I am also not quite sure how you remark regarding
C++14
is to be understood. Are you using one of the solutions provided with the SDK?I would have to ask you to use VS 2019 and our solutions. If the problem then still does persist, please share your non-working solution with us.
Cheers,
