How to translate a C4D python plugin into Houdini

With the advent of Houdini Engine as another source of adding plugin functionality to Cinema I've begun to consider trying to re-write my c4d python plugins in Houdini. Since the Houdini Engine is being ported to many different 3d softwares, it seems to make sense to write a plugin once and export it to whatever 3d program that my current employer prefers.
Has anyone here tried to export code with Houdini to use in c4d or any other software? It would be great to get advice from someone who has converted their code to Houdini.

Thanks Ilya! I guess that I need to ask similar questions in the Houdini forums for more answers to python in Houdini questions.

I can not say what section you prefer at side-fx, i ask at hapi section, because did not find info in manuals H14 - **http://www.sidefx.com/docs/hengine1.8 **or ****/hengine1.9 and for H15 - http://www.sidefx.com/docs/hengine2.0 **
**about h15, i don't know do maxon work at hapi 2.0 or not - HEc4d devs never come !
